Beer Review: Bank Top Brewery, Dark Mild

This is arguably the finest mild currently available, in our local pubs and clubs – in my opinion.

The Bolton brew is such a full bodied and flavoursome tipple.

And for dark ale fans it’s a treat not to be missed.

The award-winning mild is a dark ruby beer, with a relatively tight, beige head.

It has a pleasant malty and liquorice aroma, and is packed with coffee, liquorice and chocolate flavours.

A dry, roasted malt finish lingers long in the mouth. It ticks all the boxes for me - a truly exceptional dark ale at 4% ABV.

I sampled this quality quaff recently at two of East Lancashire’s fine cask ale watering holes, the Bridge Bier Huis, Burnley, and the Hare and Hounds, Padiham.
