The best transfer window signing we could have hoped for. That seems to be the unanimous reaction from Clarets fans to the news that Turf boss Sean Dyche has put pen to paper on a new four-and-a-half-year deal.

The enigmatic and much-coveted manager seems to have been linked with every job going in recent months but Sean has maintained that he is happy at Turf Moor throughout. And the proof of the pudding is his signature on a new contract.
Especially heartening for Burnley fans is the message from the ‘Ginger Mourinho’ that Turf Moor is the right kind of environment to progress his career.
With the Clarets virtually guaranteed another season of Premier League football things are certainly looking in a healthy way on and off the field at the moment.
And the arrival of former England man Aaron Lennon this week is more good news for the Turf Moor faithful.
• Driving around the area’s roads it is extremely noticeable that the pothole situation is getting worse by the day. Lancashire County Council has pledged additional funds to tackle the problem but I have not seen much evidence in Burnley as yet!
