Coronation Street's Bethany Platt had viewers in tears as she finally opened up about being raped by twisted policeman Neil.
The schoolgirl (Lucy Fallon) has escaped her exploitative fiance Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper), after he groomed and then pimped her out to other men. Nathan's friend Neil, who raped her at a party, then warned her not to say anything about him.
But in "heartbreaking" scenes in Wednesday night's instalment of the ITV soap, Bethany told Craig (Colson Smith) what she had been through with Neil.
"I had sex with him, I thought I had to, I thought Nathan wanted me to," she said.
One fan posted on Twitter: "My heart is melting seeing Bethany's tears dropping down her face."
"Nah I'm crying at #Corrie this is truly heartbreaking," said another moved viewer.
"That was heart wrenching seeing Bethany unravel to Craig," said another.
Viewers were impressed by the way actress Fallon handled the powerful scene.
"Lucy fallon is unreal she is smashing it as per #Corrie," said one.
Another said: "Lucy Fallon is absolutely phenomenal, her performance is heart moving/breaking tonight. This is such an important storyline."
There was more drama on the cobbles as Liz and Steve finally signed away the Rovers Return.
The soap's famous pub changed hands after Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) was forced to sell up to pay for his divorce from Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh).
The emotional scenes saw his mum Liz (Beverley Callard) say her last goodbyes to the watering hole.
"Awh don't want Steve & Liz to leave the pub," one viewer tweeted.
Another said: "Cant believe Liz and Steve leaving the Rovers, end of an era!"
