A MAN arrested in Burnley as part of an Irish republican dissident investigation has been released.
The 50-year-old man was arrested following a raid in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Rosegrove and taken to Northern Ireland for questioning at Antrim Serious Crime Suite.
A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said: “A 50-year-old man arrested in the Lancashire area on Tuesday morning by detectives from PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch has been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.”
The arrest was made with the assistance of officers from the North West Counter Terrorism Unit.
At the time of the arrest, the PSNI confirmed the man was arrested as part of an investigation into terrorist activity going back a number of years.
