New plans unveiled for Booths in Barrowford

Booths Supermarket is to lodge amendments for its approved supermarket scheme in Barrowford and hopes to open its new store by the end of 2014.

Booths will be making a new planning application to Pendle Borough Council.

Subject to the amended plans being approved, the company aims to re start works with a view to having the new store completed and ready for opening by the end of 2014.

The new application is to accommodate changes to the means of delivery to the store. Booths propose for the deliveries to be serviced via the White Bear Car Park, instead of via Halstead Lane as in the consented scheme. This means Halstead Lane will not need to be re-graded and will result in less disruption to the community. Booths deliveries take place in the morning and therefore the local pub car park will not be affected.

Other alterations to the building as a consequence of the changes to planning are minor.

Plans of the amended development (highlighting the changes) are being posted at Barrowford Town Council’s offices (Homefield House, Gisburn Road, Barrowford, BB9 8ND) on: Tuesday, October 29th, 1-3pm; Thursday, October 31st, 10am-noon, and Saturday, November 2nd, 10am-noon.

You can also make comments to Booths Central Office, Longridge Road, Ribbleton, Preston PR2 5BX.

Pendle Borough Council will undertake its own neighbourhood notification when the application is lodged formally.
