Nelson street bomb: three arrested

POLICE have arrested three men after a small explosive device was found on a street in Nelson.

A 26-year-old man from Colne, a 26-year-old man from Nelson and a 28-year-old man from Nelson have been arrested on suspicion of causing an explosion likely to endanger life.

All three men have been released on police bail until June 21st.

Officers were called to Pinfold Place about 8-10 p.m. on Wednesday, after neighbours reported hearing a loud bang.

On arrival, the remnants of what appeared to be a small home-made explosive device were found in the street. These were collected for examination and an inquiry, led by the Force Major Investigation Team, is continuing.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the explosion and no damage was caused.
