The pub closed almost four years ago and deteriorated in recent times into a major eyesore on the main road between Nelson and Colne.

The pub opened in 1963 when the Coldwell Inn lost its licence.

It got its name from a row of cottages known as the Clock Face Cottages which stood on the opposite side of the road.

The pub itself was built on the site of a former cycle shop and was highly successful in its heyday with a number of successful pool teams.

It also had two football teasm which competed in the Pendle Charity Football League.

Pendle Council approved the external alterations at the pub in August.

An application for a change of use of the building for retail purposes was not necessary.
