Nelson murder victim’s family speak out after guilty verdict

The family of Debra Walsh, who was murdered by her boyfriend Carl Field, at her Nelson home have today spoken out on their grief.

After the 34-year-old was found guilty by a jury at Preston Crown Court today her family said: “Debra was taken from us in the most brutal and horrific way and this is something none of us will ever overcome.

“Some slight relief has come today with Carl Field being found guilty of Debra’s murder and receiving a life sentence, of which he will have to serve a minimum of 19 years. But ultimately we cannot be joyous; this will never bring Debra back.
