Detectives are still trying to piece together how Mr Beardsworth died and are keen to trace his movements in the days leading up to his death.

Det. Supt Neil Esseen from the Force Major Investigation Team said: “Mr Beardsworth is well known in the area and I would appeal to anyone who may have seen him between lunchtime on Saturday, October 2nd, and 3 p.m. on Monday, October 4th, to contact us.

“I am particularly interested in anyone who may have seen Dean in the Eagle Street area on the evening of Saturday, October 2nd.

“It is vital we piece together his movements so his family can know what happened to their loved one.”
