Myths and legends brought to life at Unity College

World Book Day came alive at Unity College when a professional storyteller arrived to bring stories to life.

Dominic Kelly recreated a variety of myths and legends to enchant children in Years 7, 8 and 9.

English teacher and literacy co-ordinator Mr Dean Plowes said: “It was fabulous to see how much our students engaged with the sessions.

“Storytelling really is an art and hopefully events like this will remind our students about the power of stories.”

Staff got into the spirit of the day, too, with several dressing up as famous literary characters including the Mad Hatter, Harry Potter, War Horse and Matilda.
