Motorcyclist killed after crashing into tree

A motorcyclist has died after crashing into a tree.

Police appeal

Greater Manchester Police were called to Wigan Road in Golborne at around 2.45am this morning, Monday, following a report that a motorbike had collided with a tree.

Officers and paramedics attended but the man was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Police Constable Paul Hailwood of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are carrying out a thorough investigation to establish the full facts around what happened.
