Mind-boggling magic and comedy in Cliviger

DOMINO DRIVE – Winners were Mrs J. Crabtree, Mrs G. Walsh, Mrs J. Cottam, consolation Mrs E. Nicholson. The raffle was won by Mrs B. Crook and the next whist and domino drive will be held on Thursday.

MOUNT ZION CHURCH – On Saturday, February 26th, meet at the church at 1-30 p.m. for a short guided walk.

FRIENDLY HOUR – Members had a lovely afternoon when Donna Roe-Green presented a talk on famous gardens she had visited, telling about her interest in flowers which developed through her first job in a florists growing into general horticulture leading to college where she took a degree. It was a fascinating talk accompanied by pictures and Donna was thanked for a very enjoyable afternoon.

MONDAY CLUB – Two representatives of the hospice staff, Lisa and Helen, were guest speakers at the meeting, telling members of the fund-raising work that is essential. After the talk members held a bring and buy stall and sold key rings and notebooks on behalf of the hospice making a total of £86.

The next meeting will be held on March 14th when George Heys will speak about his life as a butcher.

VILLAGE HALL – A new venture is planned at the village hall on Friday, March 4th, at 7-30 p.m. when professional entertainer Jan Keable presents a one-man show of mind-boggling magic and comedy.
