Met Office warn snow, sleet and ice could hit East Lancashire

A yellow warning has been issued for the area with a mixture of rain, sleet and snow forecast for tomorrow and Friday.

Temperatures could plunge as low as -7 °C tonight before rain and some snow sweeps across the region throughout the day tomorrow.

There are fears of further problems on the roads with snow falling on already frozen surfaces and temperatures reaching barely above freezing.

Hundreds of motorists across Burnley and Pendle were hit by wintry weather last weekend after the Met Office issued a yellow warning.

Snow and ice caused major traffic disruption with many bus services cancelled and several main roads closed by authorities.
