Maundy Money joy for those who met the Queen

In an historic Easter tradition, the Queen was in Blackburn today to hand out Maundy Money to people from across East Lancashire who have worked tirelessly for their community over many years.

Paying her first visit to Blackburn Cathedral, the Queen handed the specially-minted coins to 88 men and 88 women chosen for their contribution.

Thousands turned out to cheer on the Monarch and Duke of Edinburgh and the national media were on hand to capture every moment.
