Man suffers head and spine injuries in Brierfield smash

Firefighters were called out to assist in releasing a man who was trapped in a car following an accident in Brierfield.

It happened on Clitheroe Road, at around 6pm on Tuesday. The victim was stuck in his vehicle after the road traffic collision.

Once the fire and ambulance crews got him out he was left in care with paramedics on the scene. He was 27 and suffered head and spine injuries and also had broken ribs, and was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital by the ambulance service for further treatment.
