A man in his 60s fell around 20 foot off a roof and was airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital by the air ambulance this morning.

The man, who hasn’t been named, was working on a property in Blenheim Street in Colne when his ladders slipped and he fell off the roof.

“It was a legitimate business and the man was working on a roof of a property,” said a police spokesperson.

“The ladders somehow slipped and he fell around 20 foot. We think he has pelvic injuries.

“He was lucid and speaking at the scene but was in obvious discomfort. The air ambulance came very quickly and he was taken to hospital.”
