Man accused of £3,000 theft from Burnley community group

A 32-year-old man from Burnley has appeared before the town’s magistrates, accused of stealing more than £3,000 from Brunshaw Action Group.

David Stevenson is charged with theft by employee.

It is alleged that on or between January 1st, 2013, and December 31st, 2014, at Burnley, he stole £3,258.05.

The defendant, of Williams Road, Burnley, elected to be tried at the town’s crown court and was unconditionally bailed until a hearing there on June 29th.

He indicated a not guilty plea.
