Man (24) appears in court accused of murdering 17-year-old

A 24-year-old man has appeared before Burnley magistrates, charged with murdering a 17-year-old youth said to have been stabbed to death.

Sean Fell, of George Street, Haslingden, is accused of murdering Declan Eastwood, a former pupil at the town’s high school, at Haslingden, on August 6th.

Fell, whose family was in the public gallery, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth during the three-minute hearing this morning. His case was sent to Preston Crown Court for a hearing on Wednesday, and the defendant was remanded in custody.

The alleged victim died after an incident in Princess Street, Haslingden, on Saturday morning. Police said he had been found with a number of stab injuries at around 5-45 a.m. He was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital, where a short time later he was pronounced dead.
