Lions' pride as milestone anniversary celebrated

Burnley Lions held a charter lunch to mark the 40th anniversary of the club.

Hosted by president Jacquie Devlin at Burnley Football Club, the 40th year of the Burnley branch coincides with the 100th anniversary of the organisation worldwide.

Among the guests were representatives of Lions from clubs in Whalley, Rossendale, Littleborough, Kendal, Hyndburn, Heywood, Chorley, Bolton, Blackburn and Accrington.

The Lions’ district governor, Roy Axten, presented a 25 years service award to Burnley Lion, Tim Hunt.

And Jacquie presented a cheque for £200 to the Mayor of Burnley Coun. Howard Baker for his charity fund which will go towards helping charitable groups and organisations in the town.
