Lancashire service for traffic accident victims

Victims of road traffic accidents will be remembered with a Lancashire service at County Hall, Preston this weekend.

The World Day of Remembrance Service takes place on Sunday 16 November and is one of thousands being held across the globe to support the families and friends of people killed on the roads, and to honour the work of the emergency services.

The multi-faith service will be held from 11.30am at the chapel in Christ Church Precinct, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston.

As well as families and friends of road traffic victims, representatives from UK-based charity RoadPeace, the police, fire and ambulance services will join the chairman of Lancashire County Council to mark the occasion.

The World Day of Remembrance was started in 1993 by RoadPeace, which is dedicated to supporting people bereaved and injured in road traffic collisions.
