Lancashire Police stay in touch with ‘love Tweets’

POLICE are urging residents to keep the things they love safe with a series of Tweets this February.

Lancashire Constabulary will be using its Twitter feed @lancspolice to send out the crime prevention messages on a daily basis.

The messages will focus on the things residents “love”, including their homes and gardens, material possessions such as cars and mobile phones, and hobbies or pastimes such as going to the football or having a night out with friends. The messages will offer simple tips that can help prevent against falling victim to crime.

A spokesman for Lancashire Constabulary said: “We tend to find our crime prevention tweets are among those that are most commonly re-tweeted by our followers, meaning we have the capacity to reach a large audience.

“Valentine’s Day falls in February and we would like residents to think about the things they love – not just for one day, but for the whole of the month and beyond – and then help us to keep crime low by taking steps to prevent themselves being targeted by criminals.”
