Juror dies moments before trial at Burnley Crown Court

A COURTROOM was left in shock after a juror collapsed and died moments before a trial.

It is believed the 55-year-old man suffered a heart attack mid Tuesday afternoon, shortly after being sworn in at Burnley Crown Court.

Paramedics were immediately called to courtroom two while a security guard gave him CPR. He was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Court proceedings were adjourned for the day but resumed the following morning.
