‘Joy to the World’ festive first in Clitheroe

This concert is a new Christmas venture for Clitheroe churches and will be a celebration of Christmas in music, drama and dance, with a wide appeal.

Music will be led by the 75-strong Ribble Valley Choir and Orchestra, ranging from the first chorus from Vivaldi’s “Gloria” to “pop” including “You Raise Me Up”. There will also be Christmas favourites such as “O Holy Night” and “O Little Town of Bethlehem”, with items for the audience to sing along.

As well as musical items there will be dance, humorous sketches and Christmas readings. The concert, which begins at 7-30 p.m. at the church off Parson Lane, is free. No tickets are required and interval refreshments will be provided – just go along for an enjoyable seasonal evening!
