It’s a boy! Nation celebrates birth of Royal baby

There were cheers of jubilation as the news broke last night that the Royal baby had been delivered safely in hospital in London.

Prince Charles, grandfather of the new prince, spoke of his pride and joy in the new arrival and Prime Minister David Cameron expressed the nation’s happiness on the steps of Downing Street.

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, says he and his wife “could not be happier” after the duchess gave birth to a baby boy, weighing 8lb 6oz, at 4-24pm at St Mary’s Hospital, West London.

Well-wishers from around the globe screamed with excitement as news of the birth of the royal baby spread to Buckingham Palace.

What do you think the new Royal baby will be called? On Facebook, Arthur and Albert have been suggested ... the bookies seem to think it might be James and George though.
