Inquest opens into Burnley man’s skip death

AN inquest has been opened and adjourned following the discovery of a Burnley man’s body in a skip in Accrington.

Mr Jason Mark Marren (32), formerly known as Hosker, was found dead by workers at a landfill site in Whinney Hill Road, Accrington, on Monday. The skip had originated from Widow Hill Road, Burnley.

Police originally investigated the death, treating it as unexplained, but their inquiries have now stopped and the file given to East Lancashire Coroner Mr Richard Taylor.

Home Office pathologist Dr Charles Wilson carried out a post-mortem examination but requested toxicology and histological tests.

Mr Taylor adjourned the inquest to await the results of the tests.
