Inquest opens into Burnley boy’s canal death
An inquest is opening this morning into the tragic death of a Burnley boy who fell into the Leeds and Liverpool Canal at Rosegrove.
Robbie Williamson (11) was rushed to hospital following the incident, in which he was said to have fallen from a pipe running alongside a bridge over the canal last April.
Despite desperate attempts to save him by neighbours, the Shuttleworth Community College student died at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.
