The flight was captured on video by Jordan Taylor and was one of the highlights of the first ever Padiham on Parade weekend, held to commemorate the end of Armed Forces Week and celebrate the music, food and fashion of the 1940s era.

Padiham stepped back in time with a variety of exhibitions, displays and re-enactments of the decade that saw Britain victorious in World War Two.

Bunting festooned the town and shops and many businessowners got into the spirit of the occasion by dressing up in 1940s fashion. There were military and civilian displays throughout the two day event and the era of the Big Band was re-lived with a Ballroom Blitz on Saturday night at Shuttleworth College.

On Sunday veterans and cadets laid wreaths at the cenotaph in Memorial Park followed by a parade to Padiham Town Hall for a service of remembrance.
