Hunt for patient who attacked paramedic and police officer after Higham crash
A patient who was being taken to hospital after a crash in Higham last night is on the run after escaping from an ambulance on the M65.
The man, in his 20s, had been involved in a collision in Stump Hill Road just before 8pm. Paramedics were believed to be taking him to the Royal Preston Hospital when he assaulted a member of the ambulance crew and a police officer who was travelling in the ambulance. As the ambulance travelled along the motorway near Blackburn, the man fled the vehicle.
The police helicopter was scrambled but the man has yet to be found.
