One of the biggest events in the racing calendar takes place on Sunday.

The annual Burnley Fire Station charity 10k race kicks off at 11am and there is still time to enter.

Now in its 31st year the annual event has raised thousands of pounds over the years for Pendleside Hospice and the Firefighters charity.

Runners of all abilities over the age of 15 are invited to take part and, in the past, hundreds of runners, both keen amateurs and seasoned running club members, have entered.

Everyone who takes part will receive a commemorative medal and there will be prizes in different categories.

This year the traditional fun run that takes place around Queens Park will not be held.

All funds raised go to Pendleside Hospice and the Firefighters Charity.

Entries for the race can be made online at /www.fyldecoastrunners.com/burnley-fire-10k.html.

You can also enter on the day and competitors are asked to arrive in plenty of time before the race starts at 11am, starting from the fire station in Ormerod Road.

Parking is available at Blessed Trinity RC College next door to the fire station.
