Burnley homes have been without water since 3-45am

This incident in Middlesex Avenue was reported to United Utilities at 3-45am.

A spokesman for the water company said: "Our inspectors have now reduced the flow of water to the burst on Middlesex Avenue and water will be coming back to your taps.

"Due to the size of the burst, our water mains have to fill up again and this may take a little while - possibly up to 2 hours.
