Burnley will mark the Queen’s official birthday this weekend.

On Saturday, Burnley Council staff will be giving away free coffee and cake at Manchester Road train station between 10am and 11am.

The Mayor of Burnley, Coun. Jeff Sumner, is holding his annual Civic Sunday event on Sunday with a service at St Stephen’s Church, Oxford Road, which will be decorated with bunting.

A montage of images of the Queen’s visits to Burnley will be on display outside Burnley Town Hall.

There will be celebrations in Ightenhill Park on Sunday, and in Memorial Park, Padiham, on Wednesday.

Community volunteers worked with the council to organise a “Clean for the Queen” weekend, and there has been a photographic display of the Queen’s visits in the Central Library.
