HISTORIC events from Clitheroe's past feature on new plaques unveiled at the town's Castle.
Ribble Valley Borough Council joined forces with Ribblesdale High School, Groundwork Pennine Lancashire and Lancashire Museums Service to place 10 plaques on the walls of the creative activity area in the shadow of the Castle Keep.
Each featuring a key event in the history of Clitheroe, the plaques contain an explanation in Braille and can be used for rubbings.
Coun. Robert Thompson, chairman of the council's community committee, said: "Ribblesdale High School pupils have been working with the council's arts development team and artists to research local history and produce the designs, and we are looking forward to unveiling the latest stage of the magnificent Clitheroe Castle refurbishment project."
Clitheroe Castle Museum keeper and manager Rachel Jackson added: "The timeline project has provided a wonderful opportunity to work with a local school and establish links between interpretation in the museum grounds and stories in the museum buildings."
