Historic Higham pub re-opens

A HISTORIC Higham pub has been rescued and re-opened after a deal was struck to secure its future.

The Four Alls Inn was closed last year when its previous owner encountered financial difficulties.

However, Winterhill Leisure, a national pub management firm that specialises in managing distressed pub businesses, has negotiated a support package with Enterprise Inns that enables landlords Phil and Amanda Waters re-open the pub.

“Four Alls has been the centre of village life in Higham for more than 200 years,” said Mr Tony Wardley, regional business manager at Winterhill Leisure. “There is a strong sense of community, and with the closure of the post office and shop in recent years, locals were keen to see the pub back up and running.

“Landlords Phil and Amanda have a strong community ethic and we knew, along with their professional management expertise, that they would embrace village life.”

Mr Waters added: “This is a fantastic pub with a lot of history and some simple but effective changes, particularly the revised menu, have had a big impact.

“We are confident that with this new offering we can return the Four Alls to the thriving village pub it once was.”
