BURNLEY people will get the chance to win a new car and raise money for Pendleside Hospice.
The charity’s annual car raffle, to win a Mini, was launched at the Charter Walk Shopping Centre on Saturday.
One lucky winner will get the chance to choose between the red car, which has a Diamond Jubilee-themed Union Jack roof, or £8,000 in cash.
Tickets are £1 and organisers hope to beat last year’s car raffle total of £30,342.
Supplied by Lloyds of Colne, the car has been bought with the support of Alderson and Horan Funeral Services, Charter Walk Shopping Centre, SFN Solicitors, Burnley and Pendle Freemasons and John Macadam Garages.
Hospice fund-raising manager Mrs Kaye Bartle said: “Our annual car raffle is always very popular particularly as one lucky person really will win a car for just £1.
“And, as the costs of the car are covered, people can be reassured that their donation to the hospice in buying a ticket will go directly where it’s needed – patient care.”
People wanting to buy tickets can contact the hospice on 01282 440120 and anyone who can take tickets to sell to friends, neighbours and work colleagues is being urged to get in touch with the fund-raising team.
