A DENTAL practice in Burnley is celebrating the arrival of two new members of staff.
Dr Nitika Virmani and Dr Ilyaz Uddin have been welcomed onto the team at Ravat and Ray Dental Care, based at The Fold Centre for Integrated Health and Wellbeing, near to Cog Lane and Coal Clough Lane.
Dr Virmani (31), qualified in dentistry in India almost a decade ago before moving to the UK in 2006.
The dentist, who is fluent in English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu, then progressed to complete her NHS training for a year.
Dr Uddin (38), who graduated last year from Manchester University, worked previously in the private and public sectors.
Dr Virmani said: “The people of Burnley don’t realise how lucky they are to have access to NHS dentists on their doorstep.
“I would certainly recommend that people get into the habit of attending the dentist routinely, and I’d like to encourage everyone to register with a dentist.
“Poor oral health can have a real effect on your physical and mental health.
“Looking after your teeth is vitally important for long term health.”
And NHS East Lancashire’s Sharon Young, who commissioned the service, said: “I am delighted to welcome the arrival of Drs Virmani and Uddin to Burnley and am confident that they will offer the residents of Burnley a first class service in dentistry.
“As a brand new practice Ravat and Ray have the latest technology to provide their patients with the highest quality dental care.”
Both dentists are available for appointments between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Ravat and Ray Dental Care is now taking on new patients. To register call in to the practice or ring them on 01282 644932.
