THE loving mum of a tragic Burnley toddler has given birth to a new bundle of joy.
Terri Howarth, whose bubbly four-year-old daughter Jaime Ella lost her battle with cancer last year, has given birth to another little girl who she has named Leilana-Faith.
Jaime Ella captured the hearts of Burnley folk throughout her brave 10-month battle against an inoperable brain tumour – and her mum says she would have been proud of her new little sister.
“Jaime Ella would have doted on our new arrival. That was the kind of child she was – very caring and loving.
“I wanted to give our new baby a special name and so we chose Leilana-Faith. She’s perfect, we just wish Jaime could have been here too.”
Leilana-Faith was born in Burnley General Hospital weighing 7lb.7oz. with dad Steve Trippier at mum’s side.
Terri, who gave up her job at the Higher Trapp Hotel, Simonstone, to care for Jaime, organised a fund-raising effort to take her princess-mad daughter to Euro Disney, but she tragically died at Derian House Children’s Hospice shortly before the trip.
Terri added: “We have had loads of cards and presents since the birth wishing us all well.
“I hope to have her Christened in the dress that Jaime was Christened in. Leilana-Faith has beautiful eyes, a very deep blue.”
Terri is now planning to create a memory book, which will feature poems written by people about Jaime and pictures from her young life.
