Danny Harwood (25) had his curly locks shaved off to bring in the cash in memory of Barrowford’s Jim Heaton (70), who died last October after losing his battle with cancer.

Crowds joined Jim’s family and friends, including his wife Margaret, at the Thatch and Thistle pub, Barrowford, for the charity event, with Lucy Cowburn brandishing the clippers.

Margaret, who ran the Sole Mates chain of shoe shops and market stalls, including one in Colne, with Jim said her husband would have been proud of the charity efforts made in his name. And she pledged to continue fund-raising in memory of her husband, father of Jordan, Claudia and Kara, who had a bone marrow transplant in 2012.
