Have your say on policing of local railways

Insp. Adrian Yorston said: “The meeting is a great opportunity for people to chat with us, their local officers, and talk about problems they might have experienced on – or away from – the railway.

“We have excellent links with the train operators and Lancashire Police and are happy to discuss any issues which have an impact on people’s quality of life.

“Of course, there do not have to be any burning issues to discuss, if you just want to talk to us about our role and what British Transport Police does then we will be more than happy to chat.”

The meeting is scheduled to take place in the waiting room between platforms three and four at the station.

Insp. Yorston added: “We have established really strong links with communities across the area and have already played a part in dealing with several issues brought to our attention.

“We want to build on this during the coming weeks and months and the meeting is just one way in which we will be looking to engage with rail users, staff and other local people.”
