Gang attack terror in Burnley caught on CCTV

WEAPON-WIELDING thugs are being hunted after a man was badly hurt in a street attack.

Detectives launched a public appeal for help to trace a vicious gang in the wake of the fracas that erupted in Brunshaw Avenue, Burnley, on Sunday evening.

The fight was captured on CCTV, now the subject of frame-by-frame analysis, and police have flooded the area with leaflets in a bid to get people to come forward with information.

The incident happened at around 7-45 p.m. outside the shops on the estate street.

Evidence gathered so far indicates that the man was attacked by a group of about seven other men. Police who went to his assistance were met with violent scenes, with some of the men using weapons.

The injured 30-year-old man was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital with a head injury and cuts on his arm and leg. He discharged himself from hospital on Monday.
