His body was found by workers at Whinney Hill waste disposal site in Accrington on September 12th. It is believed he had been in a skip at the Heasandford site in Burnley when he died and was found when the skip was moved to Accrington.

His devastated father Alan Hosker left a touching message for his son: “I did not see you close your eyes, I did not see you die. All I heard that you had gone, without a last goodbye.”

A simple tribute from his mum Veronica and stepdad Brian Whittaker also read: “To a loving son Jason. Miss you so much. Always in my thoughts. Love you forever until we meet again. Good night god bless.”

The coffin was carried in to the poignant refrain of “Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Simon and Garfunkel.

Fr Brian Keeley said Requiem Mass and offered the family solace, saying: “The price you pay for love in the death of a man like Jason is very painful.

“Jason died as a man who was well loved. He is now free of any kind of suffering. He is at peace.”

Bidding prayers were offered for the family to overcome their grief. A special prayer was offered for his children Joshua (12), Jade (11), Brandan (10), Leighton (9) and Amber (2) which read: “May the love that he felt for them, feed them for years to come.”

Fr Keeley led an emotional final prayer before family members carried the coffin out to “One Sweet Day” by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men. The Requiem Mass was followed by burial at Burnley Cemetery.
