A thriving group that celebrates Burnley's links with France held its annual meeting.
The gathering of the Burnley Twinning Association started with a minute's silence in memory of the victims of the recent terrorist attacks.
The Association has been twinned with Vitry-sur-Seine in Paris for many years.
A membership led organisation which provides social and educational links with Burnley's twin town, official biennial visits to and from Vitry take place when members get together with their French counterparts for five days.
Michael Tan, a student from our twinned town of Vitry, who is currently on work experience at Burnley College was at the meeting and a second student is due to arrive for a month n August and he will be working at Burnley Town Hall.
Gifts and bouquets were presented to Jean Stuttard, who has stepped down from her role as vice chairman after 15 years and Joyce Goldsworthy who looked after fund raising for 10 years. Lory Barreau will take over the role of fund raising officer.
The presentation was made by chairman David Smith, who will continue in the role and Janet Elliott was voted in as vice chairman.
