Foreign secretary on Ribble Valley MP arrest

The Foreign Secretary William Hague MP has spoken of his sorrow at the news that the Deputy Speaker of The House of Commons and Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans was arrested by police amid allegations of male rape and sexual assault.

Mr Hague, speaking on Sky News said that Mr Evans was a very popular and well respected Member of Parliament and that he was very sorry to see the situation he was in.
