Flood victims receive cash from Santa Sleigh
Padiham Rotary Club's popular annual Santa Sleigh collection made thousands for local and regional charities.
A fund for flood victims in Lancashire and Cumbria was given £750 and the North West Air Ambulance and Pendleside Hospice £1,250 when the first tranche of the takings were shared out.
The collection began when Christmas lights were switched on in Burnley and Padiham and continued for two weeks as Father Christmas and his helpers toured streets and avenues in parts of Burnley, Padiham, Hapton, Simonstone and Read, and spend two Sundays at Tesco in Padiham.
The remaining money will be given to local charities.
