Firefighters tackle kitchen blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a blaze that broke out in a Padiham kitchen last night.

A 999 call was made after a pan and cooker went up in flames at the house in Cambridge Drive.

Three fire crews arrived at just after 7 p.m. and brought the blaze under control.

The homeowner was unhurt but had to be given oxygen at the scene.

The kitchen and ground floor of the property was damaged by smoke.
