Financial boost for '˜Couch to 5k' club runners

A Burnley insurance broker and financial advisers with a passion for running is sponsoring a running programme led by Trawden Athletic Club.

Financial Affairs Ltd, which is run by brothers Laurence and Gavin O’Connor, has paid for 20 high visibility vests for volunteers and runners joining the new Couch To 5K group at Seedhill Athletics Track in Nelson.

Gavin himself is a former participant in Trawden AC’s Couch To 5K programme in January of this year. He said:

“I wanted to shift my post-Christmas weight but needed help getting up off the couch! I decided to join the Couch to 5K group run by Trawden Athletic Club.

“It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made - by April I was feeling much fitter and was also two and a half stone lighter.
