Festival organiser Alison Goode said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been nominated. The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival is now in its 23rd year and it is nice to be recognised. We hope all those people who enjoy the festival year after year will take the time to vote for us.”

These awards are the annual Oscars of the contemporary music festival business and the only ones that recognise the effort which goes into producing Britain’s music festival scene.

More than half a million fans voted in the competition last year, making the awards a benchmark for festival goers to rate their experiences and a coveted prize for organisers.

The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival will be in the running for an award alongside the likes of Glastonbury, Creamfields, T in the Park and Latitude.

All votes are weighted by event capacity to create a level playing field so smaller events have just as good a chance of winning awards as larger ones.

The top 10 shortlists in each category will be announced on Monday, November 5th.
