Family pay tribute to man killed in motorbike smash

The family of popular garage owner Shakeel Manawar, who died on Friday, have paid tribute to a "generous and kind-hearted" man.

Dad-of-five Shakeel Manawar (41) suffered multiple injuries after his motorbike was in collision with a car in Windermere Avenue on Friday afternoon.

A statement released by the family said: "Shakeel was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He is a great loss to the family and his close friends. We as a family would like to thank the community for their kind words and support. He was very generous and kind hearted and will be sadly missed."

The black BMW 335 was turning right into Blacker Street from Windermere Avenue when it was in collision with Mr Manawar's Yamaha 600cc motorcycle that was travelling in the opposite direction. Mr Manawar was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he later died.
