Extra signs to help locate Burnley’s Urgent Care Centre
Extra signs and more parking spaces should help patients and staff searching for the new Urgent Care Centre at Burnley General.
The move comes a year after the £9m. centre opened because people are still having difficulties finding it at the hospital.
“It can be extremely stressful to arrive on site knowing you need urgent care and find you are then in the wrong place,” said Trust estates director Martin Morgan.
He arranged better direction signs and more car park spaces after complaints from patients and staff.
Using the hospital’s Briercliffe Road entrance is the easiest way to get to the new urgent care centre.
“It is in what is known as Area 10”.
Mr Morgan said patients should visit the Trust’s website to view and download the map and follow the signs when they arrived on site.

Burnley MP Gordon Birtwistle was shown round the Urgent Care Centre when he called at the hospital to meet the Trust’s new chief executive Kevin McGee.
