Senior Sister Victoria McLoughlin, described as ‘an exceptional role model’ by her co-workers, has been chosen as November’s Employee of the Month.

Victoria worked tirelessly to plan and successfully open Burnley General Hospital’s new elective centre in October, which has been a challenge due to the team having no matron in post and Victoria simultaneously having to run the surgical day unit, comprised of the ward and theatres.

Fellow colleague, Rachel Crowther, nominated Victoria and said: “There is no one who is more deserving of this award than Victoria.

“I have never known someone who has so much compassion, and she shows this by maintaining very high standards in everything she does, as well as always being happy and smiling.”

Kevin Moynes, Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development, presented Victoria with the certificate and said: “The Employee of the Month award is all about recognising our fantastic staff who go above and beyond.

“Victoria’s contribution and commitment towards the opening elective centre has not gone unnoticed – she is an asset to her team and the Trust.”
