VIDEO: Burnley project’s big green vision for Britain

A GREEN project behind ambitious plans to transform Towneley Park into Britain’s biggest permaculture park has offered an insight into its pioneering work.

The Burnley-based Offshoots Permaculture Project, which is preparing a bid to turn the historic 450-acre estate into a sustainability zone, released a video about the unique scheme.

The film explains the principles and practices of their environmentally-focussed work which has seen it clinch a bronze award for best education and sustainability awareness project at the International Green Awards in London.

Hopes are to turn Towneley into a green beacon for Britain - producing food and natural resources, working with the community and educating thousands of visitors every year.
